Striving to be Genuine in an Insincere World
~ “Remember that the World Wide Web is not a closed network.” ~
Social Media is a part of everyday life for most people, but unfortunately, it’s often a place where we are exposed to negative comments, unfortunate news, and general complaining. This can be draining. As Christ-followers, we’re called to live a genuine life in all areas – even on social media. Here are four tips to help you do just that:
1. Be Authentic and Consistent
Do not pretend to be someone or something that you are not. When using social media, keep your content trustworthy and constructive.
2. Edify and Uplift
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Ephesians 4:29
3. Respect Intellectual Property
Do not create your own content using someone else’s without asking permission or giving them due credit.
4. Be Wise and Vigilant
Remember that the World Wide Web is not a closed network. What you say or post online can and will live forever. Use wisdom when posting photos or text online and remember that everything you do is a reflection of Christ.
